Yes a nick traditional rig with SDR ability.
I have the DX-R8 and love it. Also have SDRPlay Duo and a great old Lowe HF-150 rig.
You may want to check out my free DriveR8 software. This also supports many of the SR8/SR9 functions. Have another release with more pending function but my Beta tester is off-line at the moment and am awaiting feedback and any bug reports. You are welcome to beta test as well.

When you have had more time to play you will have to tell us all what your setup is (antenna?, ATU?).
I assume your SR9 is opened up, so are you just on the official UK CB FM and CEPT AM/FM/SSB channels or free banding on 11m as well.
