Subject: A interest rediscovered. Thu Jan 25, 2024 10:01 pm
Hi guys, I am now finding myself with more time on my hands. So when not tinkering with the car, I have decided to go back to my radio roots. Yep, think I will visit CB in a bigger and broader way.
I am currently in Florida, Hamcation is coming up in a week or two, thinking I may go there and lookout for some cheap used equipment. To make this a more interesting project, I am going to record everything and publish on a YouTube channel.
I started CB radio back in the AM days, and a few years after go my amateur ticket.
Will be discussing radios, accessories, antenna and the like. Also designing and building projects, especially antennas. But would love to share my findings spending on the least amount of money, but really getting great results.
Hope this is something that may be of interest to some of you on here. Especially as I am from the UK. I am now located in Canada, and the USA, and visit the UK from time to time. So would also like to record my findings in the areas.

I always like to look at Youtube videos of the big hamfests in the USA. Fully intend to get to one of them at some point.
Best results for least amount of money look at homebrewing beam antennas. You should find plenty of bits to help make something like a yagi, a Moxon rectangle or hexbeam.
