Hi Dave,
I was told that it finally happened in 2014 after a lengthy route taken by Ofcom including a consultation that they had to oblige for legal reasons. I can't find any of the original Ofcom documents after a quick scout (it was 10 years ago I suppose) but there was triumphant joy by a lot of CB'ers first using AM/SSB legally for the first time in the UK. As far as I can tell that was June 27th 2014.
I know that when I returned to the interest I was overjoyed that this had all happened and along without the fear of the RCA or Buzby breathing down my neck I happily returned to the airwaves.
Thanks to the influence of many here at CT (along with a call sign) I thoroughly enjoyed myself and even went as far as finally getting my 'ticket' for the Ham frequencies too.
Great posting there Dave and I suppose we should celebrate such events along with the common 27/81 anniversary.

Victor
