| Now I’m on 12 week isolation I got a rig set up 10m roach pole antenna power pack etc I’ve got a optima mk2 rig but the mic is sinfully awful, I know it’s 8 pin is there any power mics I could use | |

| Don't need a power mic, most of the time those who use them have them turned up too much and it just makes them sound awful. If you're DXing you especially don't want to be using one. | |

| Had an Optima a few years back. I bought an 8 pin Icom mic. The radio is wired the same as Icom's with 8 pin socket. Worked a treat.

You can't be far from Neil CT388 - if you have a look at the Southern SSB Net thread you'll see it's fairly busy with people able to get on the air from home QTH although in normal times there would be a lot of people up on a hill to call in too. | |

Glad ur finally set-up & able to chat to the Guy's on the Southern
Net. I was on the Southern for 3/4 yrs. I know most of the guys.
A good bunch especially Neil 388 Darren 2146 Stuart 1837 Kev.
2427 also Tom 075 in Oakham & Justin/Richard in Cambridge.
When u get on the proper give them my regards. Hope to be back
