Hi Andrew

It became to much for me to chair both the FM & SSB nets on a Thursday night.
So I stuck with the SSB net (27.395 or channel 39 mid-block USB) which is from 8 o'clock to finish.

If your are able to get to Firle Beacon, there is a group on channel 31 UKFM on a Thursday night and there is the DDB net on Saturday night on channel 26 UKFM
During the day, I think there is group from Eastbourne that get on UKFM somewhere for a regular sked as well.

Hope this helps

All the best

Thanks Ray,Another great net as always.Sadly my QRM got worse as the night progressed and in the end I had to call it an early night as I was struggling.
Hopefully next week will be better for me.
Cheers Tom.👍🏼

The ugly

As you know by reading previous reports, we have our very own fanboy, who keys up and plays music.

Well this Thursday, we were blessed with not 1, not 2 but 3 IQ zeros.

Our fanboy and his music

The phantom raspberry blower

And someone playing sound bites of another breaker

The sad

Because of the above 3 F**KWITS

NO!!!  Southern Area and South Coast SSB Net - Page 9 1f62d

Definitely don't give them the 'win'!

I'm surprised the numpty has any friends let alone anyone else to join in with their disruptive ways.

What is with them???!!
Can see them slashing the tyres on children's bicycles, cutting the chains on playground swings or tripping up an old Granny for apparently what is in their minds a 'bit of a laugh'....

Disgustingly puerile behaviour in any shape or form.

Oh B******s,
Ray I hope this isn’t true as everyone in the radio community and 27.395 net users are totally devastated to hear the news that your stepping down as chair from the Southern Area and South Coast SSB Net.
Whatever you do decide Ray it’s been a pleasure and know one could have worked harder to run such a great net.
I hope those Wa***ers are pleased with themselves as karma is a funny old thing.
All the best Tom.

As 1 of the 4 founders of the net, it was not an easy decision to make, but Thursday night was the final straw.

They spoilt the net and took away the enjoyment I and many others get making contact with new, old and regular radio friends.

Awesome stuff Ray and thanks for the video. Southern Area and South Coast SSB Net - Page 9 1f44d

Really good that despite the 'numpties' of the world you all had a good net regardless and celebrated a great achievement. A fifth anniversary is nothing to be sniffed at mate so well done to all.

Could almost smell that Spam frying at the end!! Very Happy

The very best wishes to you all and here's to many more nets.

Thank you Victor

The video was hard to do. Holding the mic  Southern Area and South Coast SSB Net - Page 9 1f3a4 , writing  Southern Area and South Coast SSB Net - Page 9 270f , filming  Southern Area and South Coast SSB Net - Page 9 1f3a5  and drinking coffee  Southern Area and South Coast SSB Net - Page 9 2615

I was surprised by how many people called in and kept calling in, regardless of the 3 numpties , to wish the net a happy 5th birthday and I'm sure that my list does not show everyone that did call in.

Cheese topped rolls filled with fried Spam and a coffee, what a way to finish the night  Southern Area and South Coast SSB Net - Page 9 1f60b

Did you spot that a member of the CT team was there for the first net?

You did well with the video Ray, multi-tasking at its finest. Wink

Yep, spotted our Mr. Gary up there on your first net report. Southern Area and South Coast SSB Net - Page 9 1f44d

Here's to many more mate, the numpties eventually get bored and although hard stones may get worn down - it does give them a certain polish. Smile

Hi Neil

Thank you for listing the extra stations that we missed on our side.

Yes it is sad that these 3 continue to mess with the net.

Even though they don't seem to like us, there still fans because they come back week after week!

Thank you and the guys in the west for supporting and help run the net

Hi Ray,Yet another great net this week and was a pleasant surprise being mobile and actually hearing everyone above my usual SNAP,CRACKLE and POP…..
Still a bit of work in progress and a little bit more tinkering needed to get everything as it should be and trying not run the battery flat….lol
Cheers again Geezer and I was the only one mad enough up on that hill Thursday,I told the missus the other CT 4543 mobile blackheath was a typo and not a gathering of Dogging Tom’s.
You’re get me hung mate…😂

Hi ya Tom
The net is only great thanks to all those (and you) that call in. Southern Area and South Coast SSB Net - Page 9 1f44f
Once you get away from the CRACKLE, SNAP & POP it's surprising what you hear, that's why all my CBing is done from a hill or layby somewhere away from houses.
To power my radio when I'm out, I use a battery, or 2, in the footwell of my vehicle, and if I need to give it a boost just stick some jumps leads on and run the engine for 15 minutes.
Tom CT 4543 was passing through and stopped to call in and have a crafty smoke
Which has got me thinking. If you get another TOM on Blackheath, ask Woolwich council if you can apply for a grant to have a TOMfest on the heath Southern Area and South Coast SSB Net - Page 9 1f606

Ray your so right mate I parked literally 350 metres from my front door and the usual QRM dropped by 3 S points.Just a bit more space and better lift off and it just surprises me.I actually heard someone fart in Ashdown forest….🤣
Also I’ll definitely invest in a Leisure battery just to make things easier for my working conditions..I could hear practically everyone but the 6900N just didn’t have the gonads on radio power,But that’s no major issue.
Cheers for the help and advice Ray as always and from a great bunch of lads on the Southern Area and South Coast SSB net.
P.s One blackheath Tom is more then enough.😳
