Hi Guy's,

well i did it bought a new Anytone Ares 2, when it arrived yesterday the factory Dat file was so stupid it could have been a april fools joke,

so i went from 24.41500  to 30.10500 and programmed the radio complete with 1 - 40 read out mid band

1 - 40 uk fm 27.60125 to 27.99125,

mid is on L-F  and fm is on H- A,  mid nights is on H-F, but sadly to get all midnights in i lost 5 channels top end,  so the radio goes to 30.05500,

so if any one has the new radio and would like a copy of the dat file for there radios pm me with email address,

please leave a thank you here, as when they are done in pm it dosn't show i am being thanked for helping people.

Hi Glenn,

They do say that an act of kindness is it's own reward.

If it helps any I've given you a 'like' and a vote of 'thanks' just for making it known that you'd be happy to help anyone out with a .dat file for the benefit of the Charlie Tango community.

They also say "Don't judge each day by the harvest you reap but by the seeds that you sow" as one act of kindness can often lead to another.

Just as well really as the admins barely get a thanks in relation to what we do, but we sort call signs & keep things running here just in the knowledge that we're helping other radio enthusiasts pursue their interests. That's the best reward really. anytone - Anytone Ares 2 1f44d

All the best,
Victor

codes for the radio menu following steps 1 and 2 to enter menu, then codes as follows

1/ bp beeping on channel and dials
2/ rb roger beep
3/ AL  WX alarm for the weather channels

update to the anytone ares 2 cb radio,  the supplier's of this radio dont tell you that the weather channels installed on WX switch do not work in the uk, they fail to mention this to you,
even when you ask they make out its a cool feature knowing they dont work,
after sales when bought depending where you buy it from can be a nightmare, they pass you from person to person then finally tell the person you are looking for is not in till 3 days from you're call, then when you call they wont pass you to them,
radio is uniden board, so i tried a uniden mic and it was very clear, i put the radios mic back on and i could shout loud if i whispered, as the mic is very poor quality and very low you have to shout to be heard then it is scratchy, so use a different mic,

you're welcome J jibber jabber,

if you find the audio is low with mic gain on full try a uniden mic, to see if its the mic at fault, if audio is still low then the radio is faulty, if its the mic send back to ML&S with a photo copy of receipt attached to mic and write on receipt say mic faulty, they will replace it,
