Just got my old President Grant, am fm ssb out of the cupboard after 40 years, after a good clean up it receives on all channels and transmits on am and fm, but not on ssb. Any ideas. SWR is good. power amp is good. Fiddled with the mike and seemed some noise. Ithink it maybe the mike. Alan CT 26 5113.

Hi Alan,
There's no carrier with SSB mode if you key the mic without speaking nothing will happen. Try again and whistle or or do a count into the mic and you'll see some output.
