Copy and Paste of my original introduction on the old forum

Hi Forum.

My name is Shaun and I first joined this forum on July 1st, 2012. Yep, over six years ago I decided I wanted to get another CB and did nothing about it, now I can happily say that at long last I’ve got two! After a long time looking I managed to find an almost mint condition Ham International Multimode 2 in the original box, with manual and warranty card!

I'm chuffed to bits with it, I've waited 38 years to have one of these. It's not been modified for the Muppet Band and I decided in about 1.5 seconds that it's going to stay that way. Completely Unmolested. After that I got a Superstar CRT SS 9900 and put them both in the wardrobe, were they've been for the last couple of weeks EDIT: Now about 12 weeks

UPDATE: I've now added a boxed (with manual) Rotel RVC 240 to the list so  now have what I had way back in 1981, and I've finally got everything else I need to get the system up and running which i should be doing next weekend

Because I live on the Isle of Wight I can take a drive to the other side of the Island and basically I have a clear line of sight to Europe, so that will be cool for DX-ing. Also, if I drive about 4 miles to Ashey Downs I’m basically looking down on Portsmouth and the rest of the South Coast, so that will also be good.

From the end of my road I can also see and look down on Portsmouth, I think my total height above sea level to the tip of the Antenna (including my elevation ) will be about 170 foot, ish. I should be able to make a few contacts from here.

Anyways, that's about it for now.

Thanks
Shaun
