The 5 foot alloy poles with swaged ends are available from most cb retailers, with the swaged poles you can make them as long as you want, check out moonraker, knights etc.

You can buy swage 2inch diameter 6ft length poles from your local Tool Station if you have one these poles are for antenna use too, I have got them so has a couple of mates , infact one of them brought a few to put his 4 element beam up so there quite sturdy, or failing that pop in to a scaffolding company and ask if there got any for sale sometimes they sell off there old poles.

NUBSTER. Can you find a catalogue number for the swage pole at tool station. I bought the 10ft tv aerial pole from them for my 2m 70cm aerial but the ones you talk about would be good as my aerial could slowly grow in the night bit by bit lol.

It should be OK if the proper clamps use , but TBH Alan without seeing how you've got 2m/70cm antenna put up I cant say mind you there not as big as a CB 11m antenna are they ?, so as I said should be OK .
