| Evening
I'm thinking of getting a Crt Xenon as my first Cb. I was looking for a recommendation for what mag mount and antenna I could use on my car to start with?
Thanks

| What is your price range Hamish ?, because it all depends really it's like anything you buy more you pay as such the better the quality, saying that some expensive antennas arnt exactly brilliant either LOL also what type of vehicle is it going on because some newer cars wont except mag mounts as there panels are either made from aluminium or are plastic. which affects the tuning of the antenna | |

| I dont actually know mate when I said plastic some cars roofs are metal skin but plastic under the metal so doesn't make a good base for the antenna tuning and aluminium is just a pain for antenna tuning , £30 is a good price you have a the Sirio range which are a good antenna they make base and mobile antennas Link to where to get them http://www.kcb.co.uk also these are old school antennas and are for the price excellent all you need to buy would be the mag mount base for it which you can get from the link I gave on the Sirio antennas but these are very good ,I use to use one on my lorry many moons ago and for the price you cant go wrong.

| This is the one i have tucked away in the boot of my 320d. Just bends round the back seat and sticks to the side. Works well i think so anyway. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/CB-AERIAL-ANTENNA-SIRIO-ML145-MAGMOUNT-KIT-145CM-27-mHz-600-WATTS-CB-10M-11M-HAM/124401247556?hash=item1cf6e46544:g:od4AAOSwAHtc3tLd | |

There use to be a guide on here but I'm not sure where ,not being big headed I've never bothered to look TBH been on CB so long dont really need it now lol, as for lingo dont worry about that too much we use plain English there is a few codes but only used for certain things which you will learn later ,perhaps one of the admin might be able to point you in the right direction on where the newbies guide is on the forum, if it's still on here. | |
