I can only comment on the 6900 as I have never touched the others. I bought one recently coming back to 11m like lots of other people. Decided to buy new so that I knew no screwdrivers had been at work, and new prices for these are pretty decent.. especially compared to prices some of the old 'classic' kit for sale on the net at the moment.
The radio is cheap and cheerful but does everything I would need from it, and more. It does have some quirks which could be annoying to some people, but I find are fine now I have learnt exactly how things work. E.g. the clarifier...
Make sure you read up (or watch peoples vids) on the clarifier functionality before diving in and playing with your new set. You can set it to tune in various degrees of fine or coarseness on receive, transmit, or both. And it remembers what you have set for each channel. So it can be confuzzling when you turn your rig on the next day, flick through the channels and find them on some odd frequencies. This particular functionality/quirk I have got use to now and make good use of to set a few particular channels exactly to some odd frequencies I want to use.
The supplied mike is also just adequate at best. You might want to factor in a few more £ to for a little upgrade.

Thanks for your comments SangueG. I've actually purchased a CRT SS-9900 from Knights today, looking forward to using it over the weekend. A Radio weekend as my dear Wife's with her Mum LOL. Just need to find somewhere in the garden to put up my old 24' SolarCon on a 25' Scaffold pole!

Had the 9900 when i first came back to radio but couldn't get the hang of the various function buttons. Just watch out when you alter a frequency as it stays like that and you can easily mess it up. Watch the videos on you-tube and learn.

I have just looked at their website & they are a shop I used to buy myself some bits from back in the very early 80's. My girlfriends parents lived about an hours drive away & Knights had a good reputation, so I nipped over there & got some bits I wanted, when we were at her parents one weekend.
It is good to see they have survived.

the 9900 is a nice little rig,as stated the channel selector can be confusing. I only use SSB so channel selector is used as VFO,hope the prices have come down a bit for you, they went silly for a while. Good luck with it. regards mark 26ct3433
