QTH or Location : Newcastle upon Tyne and on the surrounding big, big hills
Equipment Used : 6900n x2, NATO 2000, AE 2990 handheld Baofeng 446 SW radio & Scanner's and more with an Antron 99 @ 30+ft at home but on a 40 ft telescopic or a Thunderbolt + roach pole on the hills Kenwood TS570d Yaesu 450 JRC-NRD 345 Receiver Leixen 898s 40 metre end fed wire and vertical HF 360 @ 30ft Diamond X50 @ 30ft Ray Jeff 660 ADF

Brand new - (less than 12 months old) - Yaesu 857D used as a receiver only since bought brilliant receive from all over. Used it for transmission for the first time last night and nothing, no output signal whatsoever. Checked and double-checked everything. As I said receiving perfectly but no transmit any thoughts or suggestions before I box it up and return it

Better off starting your own thread but what frequency did you try to transmit on.

Yes as Alan rightly says best to start your own thread, could be any number of things so will defo need more details 

I would certainly do a full factory reset 
Make sure the antenna your trying to TX on has no SWR problems or test into a suitable dummy load 
Make sure VOX is not on
Are you using the correct antenna port
