Hi everyone. I'm new to CB radio. I have an old york 863 which I had from my uncle years ago but never used it until now. I had the radio 30 years ago or so but I'm completely new to this. I'm from south wales, I play 5 string banjo, (which is awesome). I have no idea about forums, but I'm happy I managed to get this far, and if it's possible, I'd like to request a call sign. Thanks in advance guys.

Welcome to Charlie Tango.
The forum can take some getting used to at the start but you've posted in the right place for a call sign so I would say you're not doing too bad.
Nice to hear about you resurrecting your Uncle's old York CB and putting her to good use.
Love the banjo but could never master the 'roll', instead I stuck it out with slide and chicken plucking on an open E as well as CBG. I can at least smile when I play them and even the grandchildren can sing along, so good enough really.
Damn, I'm always "off topic", it's a radio forum not a guitar-fest.
Callsign are usually issued most days so hopefully you won't be waiting too long. Just keep an eye out on this posting for when you are issued.

Hi Victor.
The world of CB radio is fascinating. I've just been looking at usb and lsb, blocks of channels, and just found out that the European AM is called mid block because of the block of frequencies it uses.
I think I may need to invest in a new radio soon.
