The ss9900 is smaller than the lincoln. I personally hated the small buttons on the ss9900. Lincoln II is my choice but bigger. Both ok radio's.

Neither, not when the certified status of any of the 'legal' sets are dubious at best and utter BS fiction at worst. And let's face it, given the reality that the President branded sets were and even today, overpriced retro designs of dubious quality and finish, I'd rather just stick in a quad band transceiver with 10/11m coverage with a matching multi-band antenna or a swappable 10-11/6m and 2m/70cm pairing and put a radio in the car where I can listen to all the traffic on many bands on a radio that's less sore thumb looking when fixed install and be built on a Chinese copy derivate chassis of a set that's infinitely sharper technically and actually reflects the improvement a few gens of radio transceivers since the 80s - and given my choice was adequate to have valid commercial LMR certs for it's VHF/UHF side, makes it a much better buy for a radio enthusiast, ham or not, who's listening goes beyond the CEPT and old UK CB garden walled playpen. Put it up against either of your examples, pound for pound value of what you get, and can grow into exploiting when you bore of the playpen - it's a pretty sound choice to not buy into the retro market CB con.
I mean, do you honestly think that by the time any of those two are fully optimised (by someone with proper facilites, test gear and solid knowledge/expertise/experience) to their best, with inevitable cert busting mods (not that the certs were worth using as toilet paper), you'll get something that was good value when you could have, for barely more or even similar cost to the President BS, a decent set that you can lock the non-CB aspects into Tx-inhibited mode easily by a programming cable?
I'm just saying, think beyond the playpen and you'll find there are good sets you can legally obtain via eBay (where most radio gear sellers don't care if you're licensed accordingly or not) that'll fix your CB fix with better performance and given you other stuff to at least listen to when the few bright glimmers on 11m are off air.
Whilst I'm no fan of the freebander crowd, at least I can concede to the fact they actually buy some decent gear at times - vs the endless cycle of fake-retro con stuff fed to the CB market. Hell, one example alone will give you two 'CB' segments and PMR446 TxRx capability in one box plus a lot in between you'd more likely listen to out of curiosity, like coastguard and maritime VHF and in one instance, full VHF aviation coverage.
I'll leave you to figure out the identity of the Chinese set in question I'd choose instead as it's easily discovered and obtained.

I believe the internals of the President are the same as the Anytone AT6666/CRT SS 9900. If true, then it's down to the feel of the radios and which suits you

Hi Brian, can only give advice on the radio I use.CRT 9900 is a good radio for the price, small for mobile but can get hot when on full power TX. The V4 model has a better mic then older versions, so no need to change unless you want to. I also have used it on 10m and got good reports. Just for reference I also have a yaesu which is a better radio but three times the cost.

Cheers Markone A friend has ss9900. Good specs . I hear that it can get hot. It's recommended to turn down power by 60% or more to help with over heating. I'm not going to mount cb. Only bring our when using . And put in a case when not in use to protect it Thanks for info
