Thank you to all you helpful buddies that answered my post. ( reccomendations SSB.)

update.
I've bought my first ssb, the CRT SS9900, after a lot of research and advice.
Running on silver rod 1/2 wave ( surrounded by hill's homebase).
For a beginner CB/ HAM the radio is powerful,  international and takes time to learn/ know how to use ( my perspective).
Overall happy days/ DXing .🙂

Hi Pauline.
Two things to watch with these is high power on FM can cause them to get very hot. Even turned down, mine gets hot on long transmissions.
Usually ok with short tx or a few on channel on muppet band 👍🏼😁
(Heatsink) ssb tends to be ok with voice carried power.

The other thing is programmed radios.
These are fine but I quickly found out that by setting the frequency on channel, the frequency change gets stored.
I changed quite a few at first 🙄😁
Here's a handy link to Delboy's frequency charts for future reference.

Good luck and happy dxing, hope the hills don't hinder you too much .

Hi Pauline,

Congratulations on the purchase of your first SSB rig and I'm sure the SS9900 should serve you well. CRT SS9900. 1f44d

I hope you have great fun with your sideband activities whether that be local activity or some good DX.

All the best,
