President Lincoln 2 +

My radio now is a bit off  0n 27.555, have to go down to about 27554.6, then I get it clear, any one got any idea how to fix it ?, or is it a back to the shop for repair,  not under warranty  any more, and with the mod it would not be valid,  do not use the radio much, may be needs to run a wile until it sets up?, these new radios  are a bit complicated,  love the older  rigs more.

Delboy posted a video some time back now, (and I think for the Licoln II but the Plus I assume would be the same?), to enter the 'engineering' menu for frequency adjustment :-

I can only suggest to do anything yourself at your own risk, (i.e. don't blame me! ), otherwise it's back to the shop with it.

They can take a bit to warm up well some of them.
Leave it on for half an hour just to see.
My old one was ok but this new one takes time.

OK, thanks for the information, will have a look Friday evening and have a play with the menu settings and let it warm up.

Did the reset and did what Delboy did in his video , all ok now, had to do it x2 then it came back to a clear usb 27.555,

Thanks for the Link on YouTube VIctor, I bought a 2nd Lincoln this week, old one is for the car during winter, new one for the shack, got to do the mod later today, these radios work well for me, and I now know about the extra menu on them.

Running them side by side at the moment in the shack, working well, new one has a bit more power, or so it seems on my meter, had a chat with local truckers near me and the give good reports on both radios, but they say the Mckinley has better audio, i use the Mckinley for local area usb, have a transport hub about 15 km away from me , get many trucks from all over the EU, Russia and so on, will try to upload a photo, hope only 1 will pop up, or i might need Victor to help me,

Never adjust anything to do with TX or RX frequency without the proper gear. Most certainly don't do it using other radios. In Bridlington almost everyone was off frequency by a similar amount because they all used the same rig doctor who was using his old FT897 that was several hundred hertz off on 11m to aligh radios.

Never assume it's automatically your gear that is off frequency either. With so many golden screwdriver brigade going into rigs there's stuff that's all over the shop. And just because they're using ham gear doesn't automatically mean it's on frequency. My TS480 was 400Hz off until I fitted a TXCO, my TS590 was also off frequency by a couple of hundred hertz on 10m. The only radios I've had which were pretty bang on out of the box were those fitted with a TXCO or OXCO as standard.

Thanks for the heads up, i was unsure about doing it, but got a good result in the end, never done any screw driver work on my radios, only done the wide band on 2 Lincolns , i did wait a about a week until thinking it was my radio been of, took it slowly, yes, good to put it out there its a bit of a bad practice to do it how i did it, bought the 2nd set this week so the older one can go in the car for winter months.
