Not sure which topic heading this should really be under, but here goes:
I’m programming an HF receiver to scan the U.K. CB frequencies. It has enough memory for either 40 x FM or 40 x SSB frequencies, but not both.
Which, in the group’s opinion, would give the most bang for the buck in terms of listening to activity?

Hi Keith. I think it would depend on what is most active in your area. If I was to do the same in my area I would do SSB, and scan the top 20 channels of the mid block and bottom 20 of the hi block. You might have more activity on FM where you are, but for me it's only busy when there is good skip running.

I’m going to programme it for the FM channels. Based on what I’ve heard on my own receiver, I think the scanner owner might have more initial success with that; if he wants SSB channels later, I can always reprogramme it for him.
