Hello everyone. My name is Gareth, located in Preston, Lancashire, North west UK. I started CB 28 years ago at the age of 13 when I found my friends "harvard 020" sat on his dad's desk. It had channels 14 and 30 and 200mW output power. turning it on and hearing voices amazed me. I liked it so much I kept going back everyday after school. I begged my mum so much she bought me one for my birthday and since then I have progressed the hobby up to getting a full amateur radio licence. Just lately I have been getting back into CB again. I have messed about with TETRA, DMR, PMR, HF, CB and computer programmed radios including commercial equipment. I have some good experience with antennas and must have installed about 50 over the years. I have 5 antennas up at present covering UHF VHF HF and 5Ghz. Would like to request a callsign to be used on SSB on 11m. Thanks in advance to admin and hello to all members.

Great introduction there with a wide range of interests in everything radio.
Call signs are usually issued most days so keep an eye out on this posting for when you are allocated yours.
