Hello avid readers of mine,
Me and a dear friend were wondering what type of setup would be needed to contact the repeater on the International Space Station?
Could it be done with a hand held transceiver with an upgraded aerial? We have no problem listening to to the space station with a small Baofeng handheld with the stock antenna.
But I thought it would be nice other then the usual cacophony of Johnny foreigner voices for a good old voice from blighty to be heard.
I await your advice hammies.
I, your humble narrator

It's on crossband repeat at the moment.
Could be done with handhelds but most likely you will need a couple of small yagis. One for 2metres up and one for 70cms downlink

With references of 'Johnny Foreigner' I doubt the multinational listeners would be very interested in you.
FT8 may be an ideal mode of operation.

Lucky I’m not an admin, or Mr ****** profile would have been modified many posts ago.
Us “avid readers” should, after all, address him as best suits.
What a ****.
