Hello all, I just got into CB this summer. The original plan was just to get an old vintage rig and stick it in my old VW for a bit of fun, so I bought a York 863, then I got a bit addicted and picked up another York and a Harrier I don't really use. I’m a traditional signwriter based in Bournemouth, but work all over so do a lot of driving. I decided to get something small and more modern in my work van so went for a President Bill. Now I’m thinking I’d quite like to get something set up at home, will probably go down the CRT N6900 route as SSB is looking a bit fun but know nothing about really. Radios are completely alien to me, I think I’ve spent the first month or so wondering if my rig even works but then learned about grounding, SWR etc. I’m watching a lot of videos and slowly learning, frequencies, AM/FM, etc etc. I’m also working my way through the Foundation License Manual, I’m in no rush to do the exam but wanted to learn. Not quite sure how I find the time as ive already got a ridiculous amount of hobbies. Having no mates helps though : ) Anyway, can I grab me a callsign?
