D Hi all. My name is Steve but everybody calls me Macca. I was into cb,ing back in the early 80s and started driving for a living at about the same time so the radio went with me for most of my driving career both uk and continental. I’ve owned at one time or another most radios of the time but settled nicely with a president lincoln as my go to choice for both work and play. I’ve not touched a radio for about 18 ish years due to a change in career working local in the Bournemouth area but I’m another one of Fred in the sheds victims and have been inspired to have dabble again now I have more time on my hands. I would like to request a ct call sign and look forward to possibly speaking to some of you guys soon
73s for now.

Hi Steve/Macca,
Welcome to Charlie Tango.
Our Mr Gary Wilson who issues call signs is usually about most days so keep an eye on this posting for when you receive yours. (I've completed your profile for you to prevent any delays.)
Yes, old 'Fred in the Shed' has inspired quite a few people to take a trip back to CB radio bless him.
Luckily there's also places like Charlie Tango who not only give out call signs but also provide a welcome home for everyone and their radio interests.
All the best, Victor

Hi Steve. Not really I think I’m in the wrong place at wrong time. I’ve been looking for somewhere to park locally where there’s not so much noise. I’ve got my amp now which should help with contacting further afield or home base stations with a qrm problem. I was hoping to catch you after I spoke to you a while back but no luck as of yet. Perhaps we should sort something out ??

Yeah definitely. It is really quiet in and around central Bournemouth generally. I was working near Shaftesbury last week and thought I’d give the lay-by a try near the airfield, it was really busy, spoke to a few guys around the area then tried again on the way back from the job, I got guys in Somerset, Bristol, then around 36 channels on AM were rammed with US east coast skip, must have been perfect timing. I joined an SSB net the other night, they were supposed to be doing one tonight but I believe it’s been postponed due to weather. I’ll let you know if and when I hear about it. I might nip out tomorrow for a bit to listen, if it’s on, but I’ve got the kids so won’t hang about. I parked on the east cliff in Boscombe last time but next week I’ll probably do Purbeck hills or Shaftesbury for it, we need more hills we can drive up round here!

I agree more hills required. Let me know when your going to be out and about and we could have a bit of a natter. I may go out for a while Friday later on in the afternoon as wifey has Covid (I don’t) and living in the same house and staying apart gets a bit awkward at least then she can cook my tea while I’m out. Pm me I’ll keep an eye on the website. If not today some other time perhaps
