It's World Radio Day today (Feb 13th) if you weren't aware. I actually wasn't until yesterday.
Anyone do anything special or different today that was WRD related, or just radio related in general?

Good enough answer as any I guess I did give mine a little dust off too
edit.. This time last year I wasn't licenced and 11m was pretty quiet to put it mildly. Was really pleased then to manage contacts today to the few already mentioned in the HF Contacts 10m thread, one into a 1 div on 11m, and one into Canary Isl on 12m. Had a WRD related contact yesterday to AO3WRD Spain, which is how I learned of this day. But then I just saw this vid by 26CE01 / 26CT3591 who got even further on 11m today. She must be a human amp with radials as legs or something, really don't know how she does so well...
Her WRD contact...

My other half's birthday is 13th Feb so I'll have to take a raincheck, the last thing she wants on her birthday is radios, lol. Can I be excused?

World Radio Day comes around again in just one week on the 13th. The theme this year is 'Radio and Peace'. Trying to avoid getting political, just saying that it is a fitting theme considering events that started just days after the last one.
If you're not doing anything especially for the day, then I hope you just enjoy your radio, whatever flavour floats your boat. And keeping with the theme, if you do talk to anyone on air... be nice!
