Hi All,
I am brand new to all of this and have just invested in A President Mc Kinley. I am having a few issues with my Antenna. Just wondering if there is anyone local who could give me some advice.

Hi Mate, thanks for the reply,
I seem to be able to hear people who are over 10 miles away but I cant seem to contact them myself.
I think I need my antenna setting up correctly,.......... Its a home base one that is just on my roof, I will try mobile tomorrow.
Any kind of advice would be great.

Have you checked the SWR ?

I have now done this with the built in SWR. I have ordered a metre but it isnt here yet.
Its no better. I went mobile today and managed to have a clear and readable chat with a guy roughly 14 miles away.
I was right on the top of a hill very close to me which is a trig point.
It seems that my little storm base antenna isn't going to do the trick from my shed. I will do some research around putting a much bigger one up but im not keen on that idea.
