Hi everyone, my name is John and i live in Southern Oregon USA. I have been a lifelong radio and electronic enthusiast. My first radio being a crystal set with a handy broadcast station across the street. KUDE 1320 AM. During the late 70's I became involved in CB mainly with friends during the drive to and from work. As life moved on and the chaotic nature of the band at time, I lost interest in the hobby.
Moving forward to now, after watching various You Tube videos, I became interested again liking the structured setup of the nets that i saw, I decided to give it another try. I like the idea of the call signs and though my chances are slim for making contact, I'd like to give it a try. Afterall experimenting with the equipment if part of the fun.
Thanks for your consideration, John

Hi John,
Welcome to Charlie Tango.
I've taken the liberty as an admin to fill in some of your details in your profile, (name, country), to help with obtaining a callsign. If you can just provide your QTH being the town/city you live in or near as it's a requirement for callsign allocation this will prevent any delays in you being allocated one. (Click the 'Profile' button at the top of the site to check and add details to your profile.)
Once this is done our admin responsible for callsigns (Gary) will be along in the forthcoming days to allocate you.
CT callsign are issued to members of the group worldwide so the chances of you catching a fellow member on air are good. (Especially as the summer skip bears upon us and we ramp up the solar cycle to some Sporadic-E fun! )
As you mention there is a much more structured and friendly approach on the CB bands nowadays harking back to the early days of CB especially in the States and even here in Blighty before legislation. I hope your return to the CB airwaves is a good one and that you have fun exploring the frequencies once again.
All the best, Victor
