HI Guys. My name is Mark and I live in a village near York, north yorkshire. I used to be on the Legal CB radio in the 1980's. Decided to have a go all these years later so bought myself a Thunderpole T800 mobile setup for the car, running a Thunderpole HD Orbiter ariel on mag mount. I also bought myself a Presindent Randy 3 handheld set as well. Shame it is so quiet around where I live not many on at all. Wish it was like back in the good old days. I would like to apply for a call sign if I may and hope to catch others on the air with look. Thanks Mark 64.

Hi Mark,
Welcome to Charlie Tango.
I've used my admin privileges to complete your forum profile for you to include your first name and country to ensure there are no problems when it comes to call sign allocation. Just keep an eye on this posting for when our admin Gary comes along to issue you with one.
The CB airwaves can be a little quiet depending on your location but at least with a mobile setup you can move to higher ground or new locations. Sideband or SSB is really where the action occurs with transmission ranges much improved and better chances of catching some 'skip' action. You'll be thrilled to bits to catch continental Europe (and further!) when conditions are favourable with CB SSB. (BTW, Sideband plus AM has been legal to use in the UK for some years now!)
I did find it a bit quiet in my area CB wise after coming back to it all almost thirty years later....so I took my Ham licence too.
Enjoy the airwaves.
All the best, Victor
