Hi everybody.
I used to be a registered member of the Charlie Tango DX Group, but it’s been so long since I’ve not only used my radio, but since I’ve logged onto the forum. Could you kind people issue me with a new call sign please, as I can’t for the life of me remember what it was before. I used to be a fairly regular participant of the Sunday DX group when I lived in Oxfordshire, but since moving to Cornwall I’ve been off the grid. I only have my trusty Midland Portapak at the moment l, but believe it or not there are a few breakers down west here!
I look forward to hearing from you all. David (Grizzly Bear)

Hi David,
Welcome back to Charlie Tango.
I'm afraid we don't usually issue more than one call sign to individuals and it would become quite the mess (or start to run out of them) if we issued them every time someone forgot theirs.
When I have more time available I'll do my very best to search the call sign lists to see if I can find your original one but in the mean time you could peruse them yourself at the following link :-

Hi again Victor.
I’ve looked through those lists you sent me the link to. I don’t seem to be having much luck. I think I’ve checked them all..? I’ll have another look later when I’ve finished my shift. Thanks for getting back to me so quickly though. All the best. David

Hi David,
I had a few moments so did a quick search through the members and call sign lists but think I will need more information from you to make a search more successful. (That's a lot of "David's" & "Dave's"! )
When you register for a call sign you provide your first name as well as QTH being the town/city you live in. If you can provide that info from when you registered I'll be able to search through a lot better.
Family are visiting me very soon so unfortunately I may not be able to search again until later this day or over the weekend but at least that will give you the time to provide those details.
All the best, Victor

Hi again David,
Well so far I've found 330 variants of Dave or David on the UK call sign lists .
But not one 'Grizzly Bear'?
A QTH from when you joined or were active will definitely help narrow that down.
I'll put this on hold until I hear back from you.
All the best, Victor

Good morning Victor.
It’s very kind of you to go to this trouble for me. Maybe ‘Grizzly Bear’ wasn’t on my application/communication on the Forum back then? We were living in Witney, Oxfordshire at the time I was in touch with Charlie Tango DX Group. It probably would have been around 2010 to 2013? The last time I used my old call sign would’ve been during one of the Sunday DX sessions. My surname is ‘Snow’. I’m not sure that would’ve featured in any of my correspondence? Thanks so much for looking into this for me. Kindest regards. David

Morning David,
I've taken another look through the lists and can only find one David who heralded from Oxford with the username 'Yam' who appears to have been allocated in 2015. Other than that my searches have proved to be fruitless with nothing from Witney.
If that's not you then rather than spend more time looking for a call sign that the passage of time has eroded memory of I can happily accommodate you with a new call sign.
All the best, Victor

Good morning Victor.
I can’t thank you enough for trawling through all those allocated call signs. At least I’m not losing the plot as far as not being able to spot it on the listings. I am beginning to wonder though whether I was imagining having the call sign in the first place!? It was so long ago, I’ll never know? Thank you for offering to supply me with a new call sign. I look forward to hearing from you in due course. All the very best. David

No worries David I can happily allocate you a new number but you will have to do one thing for me before I can proceed...
I'll need your QTH stated being the town/city you live in or near.
Once that's done I'll get you sorted straight away to prevent further delays.

Thanks again Victor for getting back to me so quickly.
My QTH is St Austell, Cornwall.
I hope this is enough information for you?
Thanks again.
David

You’re a squire and a gentleman Victor! Many thanks indeed! I’ll attend to those last posts as advised.
I seem to have finally worked out how to reply on the forum correctly too!
Speak soon.

You're more than very welcome David.
(I think that was my longest time taken for issuing a call sign yet! )
Good to have you aboard.
All the best, Victor
