hello one and all im looking for a Superstar 3900 am/fm/ssb old type im wiling to pay £50 also the postage to send to me so if any uk members out the have one going spare please hit me up in pm here or on thread it dosent have to be the above radio something else but it must be the old type radio not this new crap thx

Certainly looks that way, I only returned this year after 40 years away but I occasionally looked at radio's over the years. Even buying one or two rigs 20 or so years ago  but not using them.
It looks like most people have got to that age of "spare time and disposable income"
Coupled maybe with a surge since lockdown.

Wish I had of bought a nice old sidebander now . Everything seems to of skyrocketed lately

When cb kicked of in the uk and the people that went with it.
Like myself i started in the 70s so i think it is the age of those people then and now some retired.
Does any of that make sense lol.

I LOVE THE OLD STUFF RADIO BEST ...THE NEW STUFF IS WHEN ITS BROKE YOU HAVE TO GET A NEW ONE  MADE NOW SO ITS THROW NOW WITH THOSE RADIO ALSO ARE VERY CRAP MADE

yes we are now living in a throw away world , and the old style radios looked better with the chrome look trim

Yes it sounds like it echoes what I said Alan

Happens with a lot of things.
Classic scooters for example.
Popular in the 60's 70's.
Died off mid eighties and you couldn't give them away. Now they are ridiculously priced .

Mentioning I was trying to source a new part for a washing machine a while back I was met with looks like I'd just stepped off a flying saucer by some folk
