Hi.. All
Would I see a difference, I am curranty using an A99 with my Lincoln 2.. was wondering if I was to use a 11 MTR Mono Band Dipole CB Radio Antenna / Aerial 27.555 MHz. would I notice less noise on frequency, would it perform better..
Thank you very much
Cheers
Andy

If you build it yourself it might be worth the experiment. Trying a horizontal or a sloped dipole might give less interference as most of the interference is vertically polarized.

Hi Andy,if using your Antron and there a lot of noise, try about 5 turns of coax into hoop about 6 inches in diameter just down a few inches from your pl259 going into the Antron so239…it should cut down the noise. Also make sure have a copper ground rod into the ground and wire from that to Antron clamp.
Good luck 73’s

Hi I tend to use my mono dipole for listening to dx from abroad. It does have less noise than my a99 but there’s a drop in signal and distortion when I’m using it for more local contacts. I guess you could listen to the horizontal and transmit with the vertical if you had a second rig and was good at juggling

I have used a double extended zepp, easily constructed. It has been quoted as twice the power of a dipole.I don't have dimensions to hand at the moment but I did a post on FoxtrotBravo - google double extended zepp foxtrotbravo and you will see the whole thread.

Just to update my post above. I’ve swapped the mono 27mhz for the Double Bazooka 27mhz. So still mono band but the receive is much better with less static and noise from the local area. I need to get it higher as it’s only 15 feet high so that’s the next job but so far I’m really pleased with the swap.

15ft high is just fine for 11m.
