Hi. My name is Neil. I first started with a cb in the very early 80s. Then when I passed my hgv in 91, I had them in my lorries till 2012. Now that I'm at home all day after my motorbike accident in 2012, I've decided to set up in my summerhouse. I have just purchased a crt 6900n and a sirio 827 antenna. I'm based in Notts / Derby's border. I'm looking forward to hearing from you regarding tips and set up of my rig. Cheers

Hi Neil and welcome. Wow time flies, I think I passed my HGV in 1988. Unfortunately I didn't get a CB (after being on air am/fm early eighties) but remember some other lads having them in their cabs. I didn't last long driving either as I decided it wasn't for me. Although having the license did come in handy over the years.
Come to think of it, I did my motorbike license 12 or so years ago but haven't ridden for four years at least Mind you I know so many like yourself that have had accidents on two wheels, maybe it's for the best. Where are you mounting the Sirio Neil? I've a gainmaster sat in my shed since last August and should of listened to Victor's advice and just stuck it up any old how for now
Good luck .
PS,. 11 metres

Hi, good to hear from you, Sharpshooter. Yes, time does fly. I have the sirio 827 mounted on a S aerial post on the side of the summerhouse/man cave, I don't think that I would get it on the side of the chimney! I have spoken to a local(ish) guy and he said "I booming out" Crystal clear and bending his needle and BBC clarity, I'm happy with that. I have not been assigned a call sign yet! Will the send me one anytime? I guess I need to learn the lingo too, I think there's a lot to learn, not like the old day.. Lol. I have sent pics of my set up.

Ps. It's not got all UK 40 Channels on. Only one I have is 19 and that's on ch33! I'm taking it to Knights one day next week to have them installed for a tenner.
