Hello, I'm Simon from Kilnhurst in South Yorkshire. I'm originally from Nottingham and still work down there. I first started with Cb in the 80s with handheld sets till I passed my driving test then mobile in the car . That's when I found out about dx'ing sat up high in Derbyshire We also found Cb to be invaluable for outdoor events and activities within Scouting . Love for Cb kinda died due to , too many Muppets abusing the airways especially in and around cities making communication almost impossible so in the late 90s me and Cb parted company. So after over twenty years at the age of 55 I'm back and I can see glimpses of the old ways. I've. Got a thunderpole t-2000 in the car. Tonight I heard a couple of breakers dx'ing one in Gibraltar and one in Canada I tried to contact the one in Gibraltar however he could only just hear me I was not on high ground. This however showed up the importance of a call sign something which is new to me. So after a quick Google led me here. And actually this seems to be the place for help and advice also .
