Hi! I'm Richard, back in the day I was known as Canobeer in and around Leicester. In those days, I used a 901, then a CBX, then a NATO 2000
In those days I was mainly active am/fm and my favourite sport was winding up Buzby, once taking part in a search for myself...
Many years later, I'm a full-license ham mainly active on 17m, 20m ssb, but looking to come back home to 11m alongside that now we're starting to get a little bit of sunspot activity again. My rig of choice isn't fashionable - an FT-840 - but the simple controls are so much easier for me to operate as I'm partially-sighted these days. Current ham-band aerial is an off centre fed dipole for 10/12/15/17/20m but my atu can load it up for 11m too I'll add a vertical for 11m local work in due course. I'm in the middle of commuter-land where such things are frowned upon so I may have to figure out a stealthy solution 73 de M0<mumbles>

I'm a foreigner in the Midlands these days I'm originally from S.E. London Crystal Palace area. I'm still a member at C.P.R.&.E Club and B.D.A.R.S. (Bromley) sadly I don't make the meetings very often.
There used to be quite an active contingency on the 11 meter band in the Croydon, Reigate and Sutton area so you're in with a reasonable chance. 11 meter DX is not dissimilar to 10 meters now with some excellent radio operators working the free band around 27.555 MHz.
All the best 73's Gary.
