| Well good morning all and a happy belated new year to all the members hope your all keeping fit and well and keeping it clean on the 555 Anyway if anyone has the same antenna as me and is trying to find the best height and if having all the 16 ground plane rods work any better if there all on or not ? I've currently got just 4 on and have found that my swr is pretty much perfect on the 10 and 11 meters has anyone been experiencing the same problems ? Current height is around 18 foot . | |

| I’ve got a Sirio 2008 as with 8 radials which are longer than yours. I never tried it with less than 8 so I can’t say. My SWR is the lowest in between 27,215 and 27,605 (1:1) and never goes above 1:3 on either end. If I remember correctly I tuned the antenna (length of the final rod) for 27,205 so must have been 33cm. It is currently attached to my chimney about 30 to 35 feet above ground. | |
