Can anybody tell me where I can get an operating manual for this amplifier please? I believe on a well set up rig and antenna that it boosts to 35 watt output - I only want to use it now and again when mobile- I'm using a Binatone 5 star or Tti 660 as the mood takes me. The binatone seems to get out better than the tti which has some bad reports on modulation quality. I am driving a Peugeot 3008 with one of those full glass roofs so the aerial is mounted on the rear section of the roof which is about 8" wide. I presume that the propogation will be mostly forward where I want it but if I get a mile or two extra to the rear I would be happy.

Hi Thomas,

It's on this page to download but I think you have to join the site.

With a 5 Star putting 4W FM it should be fine and you should get 35-40W out. Don't try and drive it past that, the transistor is only rated for 40W continuous output. You can probably squeeze a bit more if you put 10W of SSB in, but it might sound pretty rough.

The "AM/SSB" switch just switches the TX/RX switchover delay circuit so that you have some "hang time" on SSB before it switches back to receive. On SSB you'd normally use a Class AB amp, and a Class C amp on AM/FM, hence the option to switch on a 767. But I don't think this is actually an amp which genuinely operates in AB, so even if you select it you may still sound squawky or rough on SSB. But it will work fine on FM or AM with Class C selected.
