Very well done there Alan.
Keep hold of that chuffed feeling, don't let it all become 'old hat' and you'll enjoy radio forever. (Or at least whilst propagation conditions are good! )
I wish you more good DX.

EDITED First time had contact from your country, this morning was a block at ch11 EU Band & heard some strange (for me) languages so i gave a call (if will be lucky) to ask what country was, luckily the Boomerang reached so the one replied was 56TW101...they appeared again at ch11 evening, but did not bother them again (not tried again my luck) ... evening appeared & the Swedish Repeater at ch20 also from North Europe

Stick with it David, we're on the crest of the wave of sunspot activity (peaks 2025) and should be a storming summer of DX activity. Fingers crossed!
I'm sure you'll eventually do well and look forward to hearing about it.

Thanks guys, I really appreciate your encouragement. My main concern is that, not having had a response, I can't get a radio check! All the technical indications are OK (SWR, power TX etc.) but there's no substitute for a chat and a quality report. I need to set up a "meeting" with someone in South Cambs! Anyone? Cheers.

That's it now, You have gone and caught the DX bug. For me once I have worked a country I am not too bothered about working them again. I am on a mission to work every country I can.

If you can & have time try tomorrow about 10am UK time at EU midband ch12 or 13 fm mode?give a call ... if i am lucky to reach you ... will keep an eye...later afternoon will not be at home
EDIT 21:04 When had up the car antenna, at EU Band (don't remember channel) i did heard some one from UK saying there is no any local around him to get report, but not remember call sing & the car antenna (i had at time) will not allow me to reach far destinations easy (to reply)

Hi, was left about 40 min past 10am UK time, had to go out, now i am back home late ... total time was more than an hour at the channel ...was keep calling but seems no success to your area, even managed to be heard via a repeater (perhaps German) still seems not luck to reach you ...
If you can try again tomorrow same time, thanks & sorry the original poster if hijacked...
this is what was heard at my location...first time heard your CQ DX, the second time your call sign heard very clear but did not record it ... today signals was floating because at ch 26 & 27 was other UK stations which i spoke, one minute signal was good one minute will disappear for all of us

Good evening. Many thanks for this. You have given me the confidence to push on. I had never thought of DXing with FM before. I cannot be on channel tomorrow but hopefully we can try again when you are free. 73s, David
