| Hi All
I'm John I live in Consett near Durham I was a CB user in the 80s mobile in my MK2 Escort lol.
I'm EX Sigs (TA) C41 , C50 , C70 and Trifid and retired from BT mostly Poles and Holes.
I have a van conversion in which I want to install a CB setup.
I've just looked at a Radiodditty CB-500 on Fred in the Shed YouTube channel.
But I'm not sure about the aerial I was hoping to open the back doors and slap a mag mount on the roof with a Thunderpole Tank Whip but I'm not sure if being so close to the rear of the van would affect the swr.
Any polite suggestion or help is welcome lol
PS Just wondering how busy CB is in my area

| Hello and welcome, John. Your swr will be fine.  If the cb antenna is close to the vehicle's radio antenna or any protruding metal parts, that will effect your swr.. The Sirio 4000 is an antenna worth checking out for mobile use. 73s John. | |
