Hi Everyone.
Just returned to the hobby after a 30 year break. Can't believe how much things have moved on. And, to be honest, I'm a bit out of my depth. Was used to analogue scanning and CB'ing. A lot of the interesting stuff to listen to seems to have gone digital. On my retirement I decided to treat myself to a couple of up-to-date receivers. Bl**dy-'el. My eyes are watering trying to get my head around SDR. It's a different language to me. Object Orientated Scanning, Talk Groups, Time Slots, etc. I guess what I'm looking for here is some help.
I bought a Whistler TRX1 for general use and a HackRF1 + PortaPack for use with SDR# on the computer. I'm OK with the basics, but at a total loss with the programming side of things. Would be grateful to hear from anyone who might be of assistance with these things before I reach for the sledge-hammer!!!
Regards, Zodian (Ant)

Hi all, and thanks for the warm welcome. I am planning to transmit now that I've been informed that it's okay to use the 27mhz slot legally. Had my eye on a sideband unit so will take the plunge, and will also fire-up the 446.
Gary, please could you allocate me a C.T. call sign. I would be most grateful.
Regards, Ant.
