Hi guys. I’m wanting to use a t2lt antenna more on a permanent basis at home. Can I use a coax extension on these or will it screw up the swr? Sorry if it’s been asked before. Cheers

I made one last year i think it was and i connected it to a coax that comes out of my shack.
Think that would be classed as an extension and it worked no problem and swr was ok.

Hello Shaun,

Yes there's no problem using a additional length of feedline if needed. It's always wise to keep an eye on your SWR I usually do a check before each session of operating.

Best 73 Gary.

Thanks Gary. My 6900 shows the SWR as I transmit but I’ve also got an SWR meter inline that I leave there too incase it’s not accurate. I’m putting it down the garden on a fibreglass pole so will need to run some cable back to the house 👍

I used a T2LT for 11m for over 18 months a few years back as my permanent homebased antenna, made it myself and it was actually better than other CB antennas I'd used at home. Also use one still while out static mobile in the carĀ Smile

Awesome that’s good to hear. I’m going to get it up on a fibreglass pole above the roofline so hopefully make some contacts!

I have used the T2LT with a feedline of about 15m on a 12m Spiderbeam pole for a few years now without problems. Just make sure no water can enter any connection.
