Subject: GT-3TP charging issues Sat Apr 18, 2020 3:15 pm
hi all looking for some ideas about my Baofeng GT-3TP. Been in the truck for a few months before lockdown so brought it into the house and the charging station is constantly flashing red/green. The battery is completely dead and the charger will not charge it. Any ideas?????

Hi, I had a similar problem with a gt5tp but my charging unit ended up being at fault and I could only find one from a uv5r, the charging lights wint indicate properly but it charges ok

Better to change board out of those desk chargers, bit dangerous. I use XL4015 separate box which can also be used in the car. Needs any voltage supply above 9v to 36v to run. 2 amp about the best. Made some dual 18650 battery packs so loads of power all day operations.

Could you share some details on the 18560 conversion? I have a GT3 with the extended battery but also have a box full of 18650

I had the same problem. SOLVED -- changed the 12V charger for a 10V charge (Beofeng) and it has charged up without any further problems. Intamike
