| Hi everyone I've got a ss6900 but the Mic is terrible so I'm looking to upgrade. If I change it to what we use to call a power mic, would I need to back the rig down or can I plug and play? 73's Gary | |

| Just back the mic gain down.
Standard mic gain should be set to at least 55 if not more.
I have replaced mine with a KPo NM532 and have the mic gain set at 15 and the slider on the mic about a third of the way up.

| i think standard mic feels awful in my hand and really cheap. Think they could have put a better built mic with the radio | |
