Not wanting to have loads of poles in the garden and neighbours get a bit funny with it all, I thought I would build a 1/4 wave groundplane antenna to go on the top of the flat roof from a mobile whip and tune it for top end of 11m and lower end of 10m .
Enjoy

Nicely done Matt.
Reminded me of the 'old days' of hooking up a Firestik or DV27 atop a biscuit tin and running wires off it
Good to 'meet' you virtually on that old u-tube. You have an avid interest and willingness to share which is exemplary. Subscribed
All the best, Victor

the black arts of antenna at its very best and some great contacts but what is it like local, I hope it works local as it would be a win win situation.

Not very good local , be very well for skip . It's too low for local but it does work . A bit of coal behind it's not too bad . Same as sat on drive with it on your car I expect .
Broke into a couple of pile ups yesterday on 10m with it.

Nice one Matt,
I don't even bother cutting the whip down despite the fact that I bought a second whip for 10 meters with the intention of doing so. I do tune it to keep the rig safe.
It just shows what can be achieved with a modest station.

This is one of my favourite parts of the hobby, tinkering with antennas and adapting them as here with what you have at your disposal. Good to see and subbed your YT channel.
