Hey guys,
just thought i'd share this video which is from my YouTube channel, I recorded it on the 19th May and we had a great tropo lift and French stations were booming across.
I spoke to a good radio friend of mine now, we have spoken many many times over PMR during tropo and his name is Jacky (14-FRS-119) and we were both using 500mw legal handheld PMR radios.
108 miles as the crow flies between my exact home QTH to his location on Utah Beach in Normandy.
I've never got such a buzz from radio and who knew it would come from a half watt PMR handy
Link below, stay safe everyone best 73'
Mike.

Nice one! yes propagation can send far away even so small power ... probably helped a lot where you was at a high place ... i have catch oirt band, dab+, fm, sw, lw, mw from USA (some they transmitting max 50Watts) , cb etc but now i have seen your video, neverthought to use a pair of an Binatone pmr's i own ...next time if i am suspecting propagation i will do

Very cool fun stuff! Especially with the required stubby antenna.
