Subject: Hatchback mount install. Sat Jul 04, 2020 8:12 am
Hello everyone, so this is basically a video of my in car setup but mainly about the hatchback mount I have installed as before I bought it I could find next to no information on then. So this is basically a quick video for anyone in the future who is thinking about setting one up.
Thanks

Useful Video TT, if you didn’t already (one year later, lol) I would recommend you “Bond” the Mount to the car body with some earthing wire or something. I’m sure the SWR would drop by doing it. Thanks for posting. Sorry for the delay.

Cheers the main problem it gives me in the end is when I unscrew the antenna every now and again it un screws the bottom of the mount so just have to keep an eye on that. But yes bonding would also help

Had a hatch mount years ago on a XR2 Fiesta, had many years of good radio, the earth wire was the key fix for me all those years ago, good video upload.
1year ago, missed this post back then.

I've changed car since that video but I've changed it over to the new car and still use it, I even use it for my amateur radio and antenna
