Hi members
So hear I was installing my silver rod out onto my clothes pole with a 15 feet scaffolding pole. So gets it all coaxed up bolted my s-rod onto my pole then fixed the scaffolding pole onto clothes pole out back. Raised the s-pole and fixed the bolts then tightened it all up. Stood back and have a look at it and I said to myself. John you done a great job. Then it entered my head omg if the swar is out on this Ariel I will have to pull it all down to adjust the s-rod. So I ran all the cables into house and I checked it with the smar meter. And to my astonishment. The needle hardly moves on ch-1 ch-40 fm. So now I can pack myself on the back. Great job from me

Reminds me of my Mighty Magnum 3 back in the 80's The antenna was on top of a twenty foot scaffolding pole and the bracket was just under the guttering and the antenna was about thirty six foot tall if i can remember right. I checked the swr and it never moved on all the channels and i thought like you it's a good job as that antenna is heavy and long. My dad had built a wall a few feet away so i'd lean it against that in case the swr needed adjusting but yeah its a nightmare if you have to take them down. Talked to scotland in the 80's and the skip was really strong, talked to all over the place back then. Scotland was in and wales and Ireland and then all over england like newcastle Manchester etc. I know the skip was going crazy, i remember when the Americans were in for weeks and they were that strong you think they were next door. I know a lot moaned because they couldn't talk to their friends but it was fun talking to all over the states and the world when the skip wa at its peak. All the best

John, was your Silver Rod bought new from eBay as I have seen some Silver Rods come with pre marked lines on the sections as they have been marked for a pre swr setup. Reason for asking I was nearly for buying one myself

The marks on the antenna are a starting point. It isn't possible to pre-SWR an antenna with a guarantee it'll be spot on for every install due to the variables. For example one low to the ground will need to be shorter than one 60ft in the air due to the effect of ground loss.

Hi Dave Do what I done to my brothers .if you can get some plastic 1”pipe put the coax into it and burying it under the ground to your shed . But remember if it’s for side bands get the thicker coax cable as you will need it for the bands

Hi Dave I will need to pass on that one . But if I remember right I think you can get a coax splitter box . It means that you attach your plug to you’re antenna then chop it and connect it into a box. Then at the other end of the box they are connectors for the pl plugs to attach to to send it to your radios . I am not positive about it but give it some research you might find something like that . Good luck with it if I find something I will send it to you. John -CT 234

Yes just seen it on eBay mate it’s called a coax splitter It’s a unit you attach a pl plug to from your Ariel and the other end has more places for your coax plugs to go to your rigs Good luck mate

Here's several here, by no means the only supplier there are loads on the net, don't buy cheap this is an item worth spending a bit more for good quality.

You're going to need to run a length of coax cable down to a switch box at a convenient position, and then run one length of coax to the bedroom and one to the shed. It will need to be a switch, and not a "splitter" or "combiner", otherwise you end up with RF going all over the place.

Those splitters will be for receive only, as mentioned you need a proper coax switch and you get what you pay for in quality and performance (loss).

Or try the coax splitter we’re you can run up to 3 rigs of the one antenna. Good Luck Keep us posted on how you get on
This will not work for CB as it for Virgin boxes only , the T.PIECE thing is as such for joining coax together but I would not use it in the way you want to because all the radios connected will end up interfering with each other as there is no switching the disconnect each radio off while one is being used, the best thing to use to run two or more radios on one antenna is to buy a antenna switch for CB use go on any CB Radio supplier and look for antenna switch they come in different sizes IE: 2/4/6 connectors TBH there really for running one radio to more antennas but you can run more radios to one antenna using them , but the main thing is YOU CAN ONLY USE ONE RADIO AT A TIME , you cannot use two radios at the same time through one antenna.
