Subject: Silver Rod install yesterday. Sun Sep 24, 2023 6:26 pm
Just a few snaps from my home base silver rod which I put up yesterday.
2 5 foot joining ally poles with the option to now add a third to the bottom and push it up more in a few weeks.
Hammerite'd the T and K brackets, used a self tapper and a bit of Gorilla glue to join the ally poles securely.
Used a bungee to take the load off the mast while fixing it all up so i could keep both hands free. It then floats nicely inside its brackets without the need to hold it.
Tested quickly last night before the pub - 26MgHz SWR 1:1 28.5 MgHz SWR 1:1.4 27.5 MgHz SWR 1:1.2
Happy with that!
Have a little time lapse video of the install but it won't load on here.
Cheers all

Nice tidy job there Matt , looks like the same poles that I use, but I secured mine together with a nut n bolt.

Great job mate, have had better luck than me with a silver rod! I had a 5/8 wave which I couldn't get to swr and kept altering in bad weather. Changed it for a Thunderpole 1/2 wave and had no problems since. Must have had a faulty one ! Happy c.bing bud!

A friend of mine bought a cheap 'silver rod' a few years back from ebay, He had the same problems. Turned out to be a dodgy coil. He sent it back and I gave him my old Antron 99.
