Hi my name is Stevie, I live in Tipperary Town in Ireland, I first got into CBs in the late 80s. My first radio was a Sharp 40 channel, ran this off an old car battery & had a DV 27 attached to the guttering. I was hooked from the get go. I even managed to reach & get a contact in Co Durham, all from a seemingly impossible radio set up. I would like to get a call sign. Best regards Stevie

Hi Stevie,
Welcome to Charlie Tango.
Great story of your first days in CB, I think many of us started in a similar way and amazing how well such a humble setup could perform!
Call signs are usually issued most days so you shouldn't have to wait too long.
I hear that it's a long way to Tipperary? (Groan, I know but couldn't resist. That's why I'm an admin here and not a comedian! )
All the best, Victor

Hi, my name is Stevie, I became interested in CB in the late 80s, my first radio was a Sharp 40 channel. I ran this set off of an old car battery& had the radio connected to a DV 27 antenna, I managed, I don't really know how, managed to get a contact in Co Durham UK, It seemed impossible, but I did happen, I was hooked from then on. I would like a Charlie Tango call sign 73s from Ireland From the Frogman

Thank you, victor, I know all the stars must've lined up for me on that particular DX event. I even managed to get a QSL card sent to me by the radio operator was speaking to, I don't know where it is now, so many years have passed. I am still very keenly interested in CB & I love to hear the skip roll in during the summer. I have a humble President teddy 1 in my jeep for close contacts, & have recently set up a Facebook page, it's called "CB revival, " it's just to see if I can get more past n present hobbyists back into CB our little group is growing momentum, slowly but surely, I'm hoping this year, to set up another Home base, maybe Antron 99 & CRT, 6900 N, operating the 11m band & listening to the 10 m band. I know & enjoy a bit of leg pulling & having a laugh also
