Hello All.
Hope all are well and enjoying the weather!
Just wondering what us CBers on days like this what channels do people tune into and monitor?
I normally stick to 555...slight lift on today so try calling me on usb 27.555.
What FM channels have the most chance of going the distance during a lift?
Kind regards all

Hello David,
Try ch31 mid-block (27.315) on FM. If the prop is running into Europe you should make some good contacts, it is popular with German and Scandinavian stations. Other frequencies such as ch38 (27.385) lsb are worth a listen if the States are coming in and likewise 27.515 lsb for the West Indies.

No worries, David, we all have to start somewhere. The mid-block (also called mid-band) comprises of 40 channels staring at 26.965 and finishes at 27.405mhz. All modes of transmission (AM, USB, LSB, FM) can all be legally used in the UK.

Hi David. That reply's fine You could follow up on following overs with your name and signal report. I'd keep overs short to begin with, especially when the short skip's making the channels packed like it was yesterday evening.. it's easy to lose contact with someone just as quickly as you make it.
On your original question, I sometimes have a flick on ch19 muppets. It's normally dead where I am, so a sound of anything on there is usually a good sign some short skip is coming in and I put a call out. I've had a few contacts that way up to the north of England and Scotland (I'm down in mid Cotswolds).

I would reply " 26ct3918 you copy 163ct220" then listen for them to come back. After that then it's a signal report wx location and go from there sort of lol. (wx = weather)
