diy ss6900n programming cable

does anyone have wire order for ss6900n programming cable, or complete scheme.things like this are not available in serbia, so i would make one.

The programming cable is a straight forward affair, a simple TX/RX/GND type connection.

I use the CP2102 USB modules for such programming interfaces, (search eBay etc. for "CP2102"), and never have issues with Windows or Linux unlike the 'Prolific' types.

The connector on the radio is a 3 pin type, GND - Ground is the middle connector and the other two are TX & RX data. (You may have to switch these around anyway....and it won't hurt anything. )

Yep, those are the kitties.

Always handy to have a few laying around, (well I do), for just such things. The nice thing is you know what you're getting unlike some unbranded 'usb/serial' cable so you won't face all the 'Prolific' nonsense.

Windows won't always recognise them, (none of my Windows version including 10 will?!!), but the drivers are simply available from Silicon Labs :-

Hello everyone and thanks for posting about this programming cable. I made one myself and I just signed up to post this warning to others: this cable that Aleksander made will NOT fit your CRT SS6900N, not if it is like mine, anyway. The green, red and black connectors that he shows in his pic that are supposed to connect to the board look exactly like the ones I bought, and they are too big for my board and will not connect. The difference is tiny, but if you look at the connectors on these cables sold on ebay, they are indeed different.

Sorry, I have no idea what the correct connector is called.
