| Hi fellow CB’ers,
I cannot use a long (5m) base antenna due to living in a listed cottage and conservation area. Easy to get complaints, especially for anything external around the house.
I was therefore planning to use perhaps the Sirio Boomerang, which is a bit more manageable. Any views experience on whether this antenna is okay(ish)? I welcome any other alternative antenna(s) you might be able to recommend.
Thank you for your comments in advance.

| Used one myself as my first home base aerial in the 80s. It works fine for what it is, a 1/4 wave ground plane. Much the same electrically would be a 1/4 wave "tank whip" which you would set up on a 3/8" mount with wire radials under it - 2 or 3 of a 1/4 wave length. | |

| Hi. Peter. I agree with Stu. I'm not allowed any Ant's before roofline except TV/Sat. So I use Tankwhips on portable mast. Also mobile in car. They work ok for local net's atm. 18mths ago on the Hi. I worked back from SW.14 to 26Brum/Mcr & 29/68/108divs. on Tankwhips Make a Vert dipole with them using 2whips or even go Horizontal for DX. Homemade Ant's are a try & see if it works. Good luck/DX I use my Tankwhips every Wed's on Homesteaders. 73's Mike. | |

| A T2LT coax dipole on a fiberglass pole can be put up/down very quickly in your garden, they work surprisingly well and being non permanent are not subject to the usual red tape. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b6LkEvFY3_M
