I have just noticed that rolls of mini-8 coax have the total length and the length used stencilled on them. Genius.
I had guessed that I'd used 40m judging by what was left on the roll, turns out my cable run is actually only 39m. Awesome. Why 39m? From the basement up and out to the top of the hill at the end of garden. Aerials nicely hidden and as far from anyone's house noise as possible and way above ridge height before adding in the mast height

For my length, 213 has a 0.6dB advantage over mini8 at 28 MHz and 0.8dB at 50MHz not really worth me drilling two x 19mm holes instead of one I always used Andrews Heliax at 144 and above in the past and H-100 at 50. Not so worried about striving for the last fraction any longer, besides which losing 30dB of noise by moving the aerials away from the houses is much more of an advantage than the CoAx loss.

Pretty much all cable does….at least, stuff from proper manufacturers. Can’t say whether the cheap, generic stuff does.
Wireless No point using LMR-400 either, as it performs less effectively below 30MHz.
In what way? It is lower loss than RG213 at all frequencies, and if we’re talking genuine Times Microwave LMR, a vastly superior cable too. It might be overkill for short HF runs, but given it’s usually similarly priced to decent 213, there’s no reason not to use it either.

This hobby can be so infuriating at times can’t it? So many things to think about, so many choices, Antennae, coax, radios, connectors, tuners, microphones the list goes on and on and on. Lol.
