Hi, I am now puzzled. Got new alinco 135 and seem to have same problem as I have with intek hr 5500. Very very quiet modulation I am told. The alinco I tried today "out the box" ready programmed nobody could hear me yet there's a signal off me. Could hear lots of stations but no reply even what I'd class as local. 10 miles as the crow flies. Using a sirio turbo 5000. Swr comes tonight but set swr was low. One other thing alinco led said "DC LO" I think when I keyed. Its a brand new battery off the RAC. Also I was very high on mountain. Canaries etc about.

Do you speak very quietly? You could always turn the mic gain up to suit your voice.

Don't speak Quietly lol. As this rig got a mic gain. Also says dx10 on set. All these sets that are the same but with different brands is confusing.

CRE 8900, Alinco 135 DR/DX and now the Alinco DX10 from what I see are the same radio just different names and maybe different software versions.
I've got the CRE 8900 and the standard mic worked well. What is your mic gain set at?
If the "DC LO" shows, it means that the Power supply Voltage Protection function is on. This means that the radio is reading a low voltage from the battery and is showing the warning. This function can be turned off via the menu on the radio.
